Self-Care Mummy Blog Series - Week 21

selfcare mummy blog series.jpg

This New Year I’m talking all about Self-Care as a mum and how important it is to take that time for us. Every week I’ll be bringing you a new guest blog post with some top tips and hopefully throughout the next few months we’ll have put together an amazing list of different ideas for self-care.

This week is Hannah Warner.

Tell us a bit about yourself - who you are, what you do and a bit about your family:

I'm Hannah, mum to Elsie-May, wife to Ronnie. I'm a breast feeding advocate, learning to love myself and trying to help others to do the same.

I have my own business selling candles, home fragrance and home decor which I do part-time alongside being mummy and wife!

My daughter has multiple allergies and GORD so I am also a huge supporter of other families in similar situations.

What do you do for self-care as a mum and how do you make time for self-care?

I've recently started using long lasting makeup as a way of self care, starting with just a little, it often ends up being a full face, which makes a huge difference to how I feel.

I also use the time I work, as self care time, it's part of the reason I got into the business, to take time out for myself.

What are your three top tips for self-care for mums?

  1. Start with 5 minutes..... it makes all the difference.

  2. It doesn't have to cost, 5 minutes with a cuppa is a start.

  3. Self care isn't selfish, it's necessary.

Are there any products/businesses/podcasts ect that you would recommend for self-care?

Caroline Cant cosmetics is the makeup I use, it's long lasting, Smudge proof and doesn't just wipe off on your children!

PartyLite candles have the best smell, they last for ages and feel very indulgent. Fly High & Glow Bright are my Facebook group.
