Self-Care Mummy Blog Series - Week 20

selfcare mummy blog series.jpg

This New Year I’m talking all about Self-Care as a mum and how important it is to take that time for us. Every week I’ll be bringing you a new guest blog post with some top tips and hopefully throughout the next few months we’ll have put together an amazing list of different ideas for self-care.

This week is Lisa Mcmurtry.

Tell us a bit about yourself - who you are, what you do and a bit about your family:

I am Lisa, from UK, 38, mum of 3, have a business in health and wellness and run vision board workshops, 2 boys aged 8 and 6 and a girl 20 months.

What do you do for self-care as a mum and how do you make time for self-care?

  • Regular hair and nail appointments

  • Go away for a day once every couple of weeks

  • Meditate

  • Exercise

  • Eat healthy

  • An early bedtime

What are your three top tips for self-care for mums?

  1. You have to take care of you so you can take care of others

  2. It's not selfish to self love

  3. Decide on a small non-negotiable self care that's important to you and tell your family, let them know you are found to schedule this into your life

Are there any products/businesses/podcasts etc that you would recommend for self-care?

Spend a day on you and create a vision board.
