Self-Care Mummy Blog Series - Week 22

selfcare mummy blog series.jpg

This New Year I’m talking all about Self-Care as a mum and how important it is to take that time for us. Every week I’ll be bringing you a new guest blog post with some top tips and hopefully throughout the next few months we’ll have put together an amazing list of different ideas for self-care.

This week is Tara Mollel.

Tell us a bit about yourself - who you are, what you do and a bit about your family:

I'm a Human Behaviour Specialist and business coach for rock star mums in business who are struggling to gain traction in their business and turn it into their full time passion. Together we create the strategy, boost her confidence, and design her time so she can live success on her terms.

I'm a mum of 2 African Australian toddlers and fiance to one incredible man. I am blessed and eternally grateful.

What do you do for self-care as a mum and how do you make time for self-care?

I am learning to be flexible and adaptable in my business and self care. I'm constantly redefining what self care means and what it looks like to suit me and my life. Currently I have a consistent gratitude practice-either journaling, or its a conversation with my family around what we are all grateful for. And I start the day with an intention ie. What do I need to see/feel/hear today for it to be an awesome day?

What are your three top tips for self-care for mums?

1. Get in touch with what you REALLY want. What is the greater purpose of your self care?
2. List all the different ways you can can achieve that greater purpose
3. Make an intention for your day and commit to doing ALL you can to achieve that intention ie. To feel happy all day

Are there any products/businesses/podcasts etc that you would recommend for self-care?

My favourite murder podcast is fantastic for all those murderinos out there. It's funny, intriguing, and the ladies are very open about their mental health struggles (this is more a suggestion for what to listen to when you want to tune out)

Mindful Parenting in a Messy World is a great podcast too.
