Self Care for Summer
/Self Care for Summer
Self care is an important practice in every season of the year. Finding practices that fit with each season can be a way of being present and in tune with each season of the year and your needs.
Summer ~
Is the season of the year which is the hottest of the four seasons, falling after spring and before autumn. During the summer the daylight hours are longest and darkness hours are shortest.
Summer Self Care Practices
~ Get outside in the sunshine. Head down to the beach, to your local park and spend some time soaking up the sun and Vitamin D.
~ Drink plenty of water. Keep your body fulled over the warmer months by drinking more water. Add a jug of water in your fridge so that you can pour yourself a cold glass of water whenever you need it.
~ Start a new book and spend some time each week reading a chapter. You could sit outside in an evening and read or in the park while the kids play.
~ Journal using the prompt ‘what do I want to start to shine brightly this summer?’
~ Create yourself some Summer decorations for your house and garden. You might wish to add some fairy lights outside so that you can sit outside during the warmer summer nights.
~ Tidy your wardrobe and bring out those Summer outfits ready for the warmer weather and sunshine.
~ Create a vision board for all of your hopes, wishes and goals for Summer.
Summer is a time for allowing things to shine brightly and to spend more time outdoors in nature and in the sunshine. It is a time to relax, re-charge and shine bright!
