Self Care for Autumn

Self Care for Autumn

Self care is an important practice in every season of the year. Finding practices that fit with each season can be a way of being present and in tune with each season of the year and your needs.

Autumn ~

Is the season of the year, between summer and winter where the temperatures start to fall, where the colours of nature change and where nature starts to make way for the new growth in spring by letting go of the leaves on the trees, etc.

Autumn Self Care Practices

~ Get outside in the autumn air. Head to your local nature reserve, be present in your surroundings and notice the changing colours, elements as the autumn season changes the environment.

~ Eat nourishing food. Start to cook with more nourishing foods, look for locally grown and in season fruit and vegetables to add to your dishes. Cooking and preparing together as a family is a wonderful self care practice.

~ Start a new book and spend some time each week reading a chapter.

~ Journal using the prompt ‘what do I want to start to let go of this autumn?’

~ Create yourself some Autumn decorations for your house and garden. You might wish to add some autumn coloured decorations to your house, or start to design some Halloween or Bonfire Night decorations.

~ Tidy your wardrobe and bring out those Autumn outfits ready for the cooler temperatures and crisp autumn weather.

~ Create a vision board for all of your hopes, wishes and goals for Autumn.

Autumn is a time for letting go of what is no longer needed as the seasons move through Winter and in to Spring. It is a time to focus on where you want to grow and what you need to let go of in order to do that.
