Isabella and Us. Mummy Blog Series - Grace Bunting
/This morning I am so excited to be bringing you another blog for our Mummy Blog Series! Every week one mum will be answering two questions and a few This or That questions sharing some of their stories about motherhood!
Today it is the turn of the lovely Grace Bunting!
"My name is Grace Bunting. I am thirty two years old and have three boys, Aden (four), Owen (two) and Ethan (five months). I am a Northern Irish mum blogger (when on maternity leave) and a Civil Servant by trade (when not pregnant). Fun fact: I am thirty two years old and have still never opened my eyes around a ghost train!"
What is your biggest mummy win to date?
My biggest mummy win to date is successfully keeping three boisterous boys alive each day! I have also managed to stay relatively sane whilst doing so. Between eldest and his getting dressed drama’s, middle going through the ‘terrible twos’ and baby at the stage were he has decided he doesn’t need sleep to survive! Some days can be extremely hard and exhausting, especially when I’ve been up all night with a screaming/exploding baby and a teething toddler. Most nights I manage to get one over successfully only for the other to wake up right on cue. As if this wasn’t trying enough, eldest always comes into our bed at three am. Running joke in our house is that he will still be doing this at twenty- it shows no signs of waning even with baby waking him up continually and brand new bunk beds installed in his room. No matter how hard the days can be, they are always worthwhile when you get a big bear hug and told “love you mummy!”at the end of the day. This is what keeps me going.
What is your 'you know you are a parent when' moment.
Gosh, I could write a novel around this question! There are so many. When your friend’s visit for example and you never get to finish a complete sentence due to having to stop mid sentence and respond to a cry or break up a battle. When you finally manage to find some time to wash your hair and have no sooner dried it when baby is sick all over your freshly clean locks. When you have no other choice but to hide in the bathroom with your cup of tea so you can actually finish a full cup and obtain the energy boost you need. When you and hubby haven’t eaten a meal in peace for four years. When your children have a wardrobe full of clothes and you rotate the two t shirts and two pair of jeans you actually own. When you fearfully attend any type of family gathering and spend the whole time not eating your meal and charging after escaped kids that are running around wildly. I could go on, but you get my drift!
This or That
Pizza or Chinese? Pizza always. It’s the only thing my husband can successfully cook. We lived off them in the BC ages (before children ages).
Cinema or a Book? Don’t even need to think about this one, book! I am a total bookworm. Nothing better than finally getting the children in bed and curling up on the sofa with a good read and a cup of tea (and lots of chocolate).
Night In or Night Out? What’s a night out when you have three children? I would love a night out! Have to answer night in, regretfully.
Summer or Winter? Summer without question! “Suncream and hat’s on and keep the mess outside for once boys!”.
Beach or City? City life is the life for me. I love the hussle and bussle.
Thank you so much for sharing Gemma! I am absolutely loved reading your answers!
